Sea Smoke

Using a neutral density filter, I took this photograph of the waves washing over the pebbles at Westward Ho! beach and used a slow shutter speed to give a smoky effect to the sea.

This photo was taken with my Canon 400D camera with a 70-200mm L series lens and Lee Filters Big Stopper neutral density filter.

Seafront Beach Huts

I took this photograph of the row of brightly coloured beach huts on the seafront at Westward Ho! I rarely use photo editing software for my photographs, but on this occasion it was necessary in order to get this effect of having the colours of the beach huts stand out against the rest of the photograph as a black and white image.

This photo was taken with my Canon 400D camera with a 70-200mm L series lens'

High Tide at Westward Ho!

Even on a relatively calm day, the waves rolling in at high tide demonstarte the power they hold as they break over the rocks. Taken on Saturday 29th April 2017 using a shutter speed of 1/1250 to capture a sharp image of the spray from the breaking wave.
